Date Posted:02/01/2018

50 Short Stories.  All set in Milton Keynes.  Voices from the Grid  is a new publication containing the 50 best stories from more than a hundred submitted to a competition run by Community Learning MK celebrating Milton Keynes’ 50th birthday.

This unique project showcases local writing talent and features the MK cityscape in ways it has never been seen before.  It includes the winning entries in the young adult and adult categories of the competition and will surprise readers with its range of creative ideas.

The stories bring life to many familiar locations, will make you laugh or cry, and take readers time travelling from Roman Britain to a future where spaceships hover over our streets and aliens observe our ways.   A love story at the Point, secret hiding places beneath Willen Lake, the extreme cold experienced by the homeless, a classic crime caper, a hostile grid system which doesn't welcome visitors…. and so much more.

It seems that MK writers’ imaginations know no bounds and MK’s parks, canals, rivers, iconic buildings and even roundabouts all make an appearance.  This unique publication celebrates Milton Keynes’ 50th birthday in style.
